Greg is a Principal Engineer and Managing Director with over 30 years of experience in civil engineering investigation, design, supervision and project management.  As a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ), and Fellow of Engineers Australia, Greg is committed to professional development and continuous learning.  He has led HCE Engineers for over two decades, managing a wide range of projects, including high-profile infrastructure projects across Queensland and beyond.  Greg leads the team in delivering complex projects, ensuring technical excellence and strategic planning which has been evident with the continued growth of the business.  Greg cares for the next generation of Engineers and takes pride in the mentoring program he has established at HCE, he is passionate about advancing civil engineering through technical excellence, sustainability, and leadership.  Greg embodies the core values of HCE – Care, Communication, and Knowledge – in everything he does.

Matthew is the Director of Design & Investigation at HCE Engineers and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).  Specialising in infrastructure design, stormwater modelling, and project coordination Matthew is committed to delivering sustainable engineering solutions through collaboration with clients, local authorities and project teams, ensuring projects meet both client and community needs across Southeast Queensland. Starting in 2007 as a trainee drafter, he has developed and honed a rounded approach to engineering design to deliver superior outcomes for HCE’s clients.  Matthew leads a team of engineers, designers and drafters within HCE in the pursuit of preparing high quality design and documentation of civil works for urban development.  Matthew demonstrates experience, competency and ongoing commitment to development and learning within HCE.

Ben is the Director of Project Delivery at HCE Engineers.  He brings over 18 years’ experience in civil consulting from his early days as a civil designer through to his current role of project delivery.  He leads a team of engineers and technical professionals, overseeing projects from tender through to construction and certification.  Ben’s expertise includes project management, contract administration, and construction supervision, with a focus on residential, commercial, and industrial developments across Southeast Queensland.  Known for his technical knowledge and leadership skills, Ben ensures projects are delivered to the highest standards ensuring that construction meets industry standards. Ben values teamwork, and fostering professional growth within his team, all while maintaining a results oriented approach to project delivery.

Nick is a Senior Civil Engineer at HCE Engineers with over eight years of experience delivering civil engineering projects across Southeast Queensland. Starting as a Graduate Engineer, he now oversees projects from site investigations to design and certification, with expertise spanning commercial developments, residential subdivisions, and complex infrastructure. His focus areas include site investigations, contract management, construction supervision, and contract administration and negotiation. As a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ), Nick ensures compliance with local planning and engineering standards while managing client relationships, budgets, and project timelines. Known for his technical expertise and commitment to quality, he integrates client management, regulatory compliance, and detailed engineering design to meet both technical and stakeholder requirements.

Matthew is a Senior Design Engineer at HCE Engineers, having joined the company in February 2014 as a graduate engineer. Over the years, he has worked on many projects, specialising in residential subdivision and multi-unit development. Growing up in Beaudesert and now based in Logan, Matthew has a deep understanding of the local councils and planning schemes. Daily, he collaborates closely with consultants, surveyors, project managers, and local councils to deliver successful outcomes for clients. In addition to his project work, Matthew plays a key role at HCE by mentoring graduate staff, supporting their professional development and knowledge growth.

Tarnjah joined the team in 2011 as a skilled Civil Drafter and has since advanced to the role of Senior Civil Designer.  Driven by a natural curiosity and a passion for learning, Tarnjah is dedicated to understanding the intricacies of her work.  With a focus on the design and drafting of infill developments, Tarnjah is particularly adept in sewerage and water reticulation systems.  She possesses expert knowledge of Urban Utilities policies and procedures, along with in depth understanding of the Gravity Sewerage and Water Supply Codes (SEQ Editions).  Tarnjah works closely with clients, councils, water authorities, and other consultants to achieve the best possible outcomes for each project.  She also plays a key role in assisting developers, particularly those with less experience, to navigate the development process from Development Application (DA) to Plan Sealing.  In addition to her design work, Tarnjah is dedicated to the training and mentoring of junior staff, helping them grow professionally.

Kyle graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Civil Engineering from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 2021. Kyle began his career with HCE Engineers in a junior engineering role in 2017 while completing his studies and has since advanced to the position of Civil Design Engineer. In this role, Kyle focuses on large-scale residential and industrial projects, acting as the primary point of contact for one of HCE’s longest-standing clients. He is skilled in managing unit and townhouse site developments, overseeing project stages from due diligence and development applications to detailed design and handover to the Project Delivery team.

Ryley joined HCE Engineers in early 2021 as an Undergraduate Engineer whilst completing his Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). With a strong interest in the construction aspects of civil engineering, he quickly progressed to the role of Civil Engineer within the Project Delivery Team. Balancing office tasks with hands on site visits, Ryley has developed strong relationships with clients and contractors, ensuring compliance with local planning and engineering standards. A dedicated learner, Ryley thrives in the fast-paced environment of project delivery, consistently meeting timelines and achieving project goals.

Tim joined HCE Engineers in 2020 as a Civil Design Drafter while simultaneously pursuing his studies at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ). Balancing full-time work with his academic commitments, he successfully completed his degree and graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours). His experience as a Drafter has seen him smoothly transition into his current role as a Civil Design Engineer, where he is gaining valuable experience on a variety of urban development projects.

Stanley graduated from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in July 2023 with dual degrees in Civil Engineering and Business. Stanley joined HCE Engineers as a Graduate Engineer in early 2024 and has quickly become a valuable member of the Design Team. Stanley has contributed to a range of projects, including infill developments, commercial developments, and large scale subdivisions with his skill set expanding through hands on experience in modelling, as well as preparing reports and plans that ensure compliance with relevant legislation. Having gained part time experience during his studies, Stanley is eager to further develop his expertise through mentorship from seasoned engineers within the company.

Isaac graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Civil Engineering from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 2021. He joined HCE Engineers in late 2024, bringing on-site experience delivering land development projects. Driven by a strong passion for overseeing construction from inception to completion, Isaac is an integral part of our Project Delivery team. He is actively expanding his skillset by taking on diverse responsibilities, including conducting site inspections, assisting in the preparation of construction packages, supporting Tender and Bill of Quantities preparation, and handling minor drafting of construction amendments.

James completed Year 12 in 2019 and began full-time studies in Engineering at The University of Queensland. James decided to take a gap year to explore his interest in the field further, which was solidified when he started working at HCE. While continuing his studies, Alongside his studies, he works part-time with HCE to gain practical experience, applying his academic knowledge to real life situations. James is highly motivated and eager to learn, absorbing new skills through the mentorship and guidance of HCE’s senior engineers.

Joining the HCE team in June 2024, Viv brings with her a wealth of professional experience from various sectors. With more than 20 years in civil construction and seven years as an Executive Officer in the not for profit sector, she has a wealth of knowledge to draw from and share with the team. A humble leader, Viv is known for her proactive approach and keen attention to detail. She has a talent for pushing projects forward and motivating her team to achieve their best. Viv is truly passionate about making a positive impact on HCE Engineers’ success.

Vicki joined HCE Engineers in 2013 and quickly became an integral part of the Administration team. She brings a strong background in end-to-end accounting processes, including accounts payable and receivable, end-of-month reconciliations, and the preparation of a fortnightly payroll for 18 staff, working across multiple awards and agreements.  Known for her resourcefulness and task oriented approach, Vicki consistently delivers results on time, even when managing competing demands. With her in-depth understanding of the project lifecycle, she is a go-to person for creative problem solving and serves as a mentor to new team members.

Gabi excels in a fast paced environment where staying organised and ahead of the curve is key. With a high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Suite she manages mailbox coordination, preparing and following up on fee proposals, and maintaining spreadsheets with precision. Her strong communication skills, both verbal and written paired with a keen eye for detail, allow her to juggle multiple priorities efficiently while delivering exceptional outcomes. Gabi thrives on keeping things running smoothly, proactively solving challenges, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.

Hanno began his career at HCE Engineers as a trainee drafter in mid 2023. While working at HCE, he is pursuing an associate degree in civil engineering through TAFE Queensland, with the goal of completing a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Hanno supports the Project Delivery team by assisting with a variety of tasks and aims to grow into a skilled civil designer. With a passion for professional growth, Hanno also holds a bachelor’s degree in urban and rural planning.
